Frequently Asked Questions

The questions sourcing engineers ask most about the quotation process, materials and thickness, quality certificates and delivery.

Quotation and Process

Which file formats should I send for a quotation?

We prefer .DXF or .DWG for laser and punch cutting, and .STEP / .STP 3D models for bent and assembled parts. Add a PDF drawing for general dimensioning. The quote form accepts up to 5 files (25 MB per file, 50 MB total).

What information should I include in my request?

Material and thickness, quantity (batch / annual), required delivery date, surface finish (powder coat RAL code etc.) and tolerance notes determine the speed and accuracy of the quotation. If anything is missing our technical team will contact you.

How fast do you quote?

Requests with a complete drawing, material and quantity are answered by our technical team as soon as possible.

How is the confidentiality of our drawings protected?

Drawings and models are used only for quotation and production and are not shared outside authorised staff. We sign a mutual NDA on request.

Can I send a PDF instead of a DXF?

Yes. A PDF drawing is enough for a quotation; before production we ask for DXF or DWG. If you have no DXF our team prepares it from the PDF; for simple to medium-complexity parts this has no effect on quote turnaround or price. For jobs with many different parts or complex contours, the extra drawing-preparation time is included in the quotation and stated separately.

Do you charge for the DFM review?

Basic manufacturability feedback at quotation stage is part of the quote. Extensive redesign work is priced separately based on scope and time; the amount is stated at quotation.

Which file should I send for bending?

For bent parts we prefer a STEP/STP 3D model; add the flat-pattern DXF and a PDF drawing. If you only have a PDF, our team prepares the 3D model.

Do you weld robotically?

We assess automation fit for repeat, high-volume parts and propose the suitable method with the quotation.

Can we buy welding only and send our own parts?

Yes. We also weld parts cut and bent by the customer; keeping cutting and bending with us, however, places dimensional responsibility in one hand.

Can you also handle parts that need machining?

We perform machining operations complementary to the sheet part (holes, threads, turning etc.); the required machining capability is assessed for your part at quotation.

How is our design data protected?

Drawings and models are used only for quotation and production. We sign a mutual NDA on request.

Can we buy coating only?

Yes. We also coat parts produced by the customer; the surface condition (oil, rust, weld slag) is assessed before quotation.

Is surface preparation for coating included?

Yes. Deburring, seam grinding and stress relief where needed are part of the pre-coating preparation and are shown as a separate line in the quotation.

Materials and Thickness

Which materials and thicknesses can you process?

We fabricate mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper, titanium and spring steel. Our general processing range is 0.3 mm to 30 mm; on laser cutting, maximum thickness per material is up to 25 mm for steel, 20 mm for stainless and 20 mm for aluminium (varies by machine).

Can you provide material certificates (3.1)?

On request, the mill certificate (EN 10204 3.1) of the supplied sheet is delivered with the parts if specified at quotation; any surcharge is stated in the quotation.

Which RAL colours can you apply?

We apply the RAL code specified by the customer. Frequently used shades are kept in stock; the minimum batch for special colour orders is stated at quotation.

Can you bend 4-metre-long parts?

Yes. Our Durmazlar 4 m / 220 t press brake bends up to 4,000 mm. Thickness and profile limits vary by material; we confirm feasibility for your part at quotation.

Punching or laser — which is right for my part?

Repeat batches with many standard holes and forms are usually cheaper on the punch; complex contours and thick sheet go to the laser. Our combination machine merges both in one setup; send the drawing and we propose the method with the quotation.

What is the largest part that fits your oven?

Oven and booth fit is assessed against your part size. State your part size in the request and we confirm feasibility.

What is the thickest sheet you cut on the 8 kW fiber laser?

Our overall sheet processing range is 0.3–30 mm; maximum cutting thickness per material on the 8 kW fiber laser is up to 25 mm for steel, 20 mm for stainless steel and 20 mm for aluminium. Send the drawing and we confirm feasibility within 24 hours.

What is your bending tolerance?

Tolerance depends on material, thickness and geometry. Our standard angle tolerance is ± 0.5° and positioning (backgauge) accuracy is ± 0.1 mm; special tolerances are confirmed in the quotation against your drawing notes.

Which thicknesses can you punch?

Maximum punching thickness on our Trumpf TC 600 machines is 8 mm (varies by material); the machine's laser unit can also cut thicker contours. Our overall sheet processing range is 0.3–30 mm.

Quality and Certificates

Which quality certificates do you hold?

We hold EN ISO 9001:2015 (TÜV SÜD Slovakia), EN 1090-1 and EN ISO 3834-2 (TÜV AUSTRIA) certificates and İDDMİB (Istanbul Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association) membership. Certificate numbers and scopes are on the Quality & Certificates page.

Can you provide dimensional reports, PPAP or ISIR?

We perform incoming and final inspection; standard measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers is used. State your requirement (dimensional report, PPAP, ISIR) at quotation and we confirm the scope in writing.

How does your quality control process work?

Incoming inspection (material and dimensions), in-process measurement (after cutting, bending, welding), final inspection and pre-dispatch verification. Standard measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers is used; a detailed list is shared on request.

Can you provide welder certificates or a WPS?

State the welder qualification and WPS standard your project requires in your request; we confirm the scope and our current documentation status in writing.

Do you provide quality control reports?

We perform incoming and final inspection; standard measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers is used. State any dimensional report, PPAP or ISIR requirement at quotation and we agree the report format with you.

Can you provide coating thickness and adhesion test reports?

We check thickness and adhesion with standard methods (e.g. thickness measurement, cross-cut adhesion); advanced tests such as salt spray are arranged through an accredited lab on request. State the standard you need in your request.

Do you supply the material or do we ship it?

Both are possible. We can source standard sheet grades; customers may also supply certified material. State any 3.1 certificate requirement in your request.

Delivery and Logistics

What is the lead time?

Lead time depends on part complexity, quantity and material stock and is stated in writing in every quotation. Typical lead times range from a few business days to a few weeks.

How do you ship?

Domestic dispatch is by our own vehicle or contracted carriers, with standard pallet/carton packaging. Special pallet and protective packaging requirements can be stated at quotation.

Do you export?

As an İDDMİB member we export. Delivery terms (Incoterms), export packaging and documentation are agreed at quotation; we assess fit for your target market at that stage.

Can we receive a complete assembled product rather than parts?

Yes. We assemble the parts we cut, bend, weld and coat together with purchased components and deliver them as a complete product.

I only have a hand sketch or a photo. Can you prepare the drawing?

Yes. We prepare the 3D model and drawing from a dimensioned sketch or a sample part. For simple parts this has little effect on price or lead time; for complex geometries the extra drawing work is included in the quotation and stated separately.

Do you ship with your own vehicles?

Domestic dispatch is by our own vehicle or contracted carriers. State your Incoterms preference for export shipments in the request and we confirm the delivery terms in the quotation.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

We cut single prototypes too; we do not apply a minimum order quantity or minimum order value. On very small batches, machine setup time is a fixed cost per job, so the unit price can be relatively higher; this is shown transparently in the quotation.

How fast is a prototype delivered?

Prototype lead time depends on complexity and material stock; typically it ranges from a few business days to a few weeks. The quotation states a written delivery date.
